KASTL is an organization dedicated to bringing swordplay to the masses.  Through basic technique training and sparring, one begins to explore this fun and potentially never ending road. Using well designed padded weapons as the main tool, participants soon overcome many of the fears and concerns that held them back from swordplay in the first place.  Swordplay is for everyone, regardless of age, skill level, fitness capabilities, gender, nationality,background, finances and experience.  Within 20 minutes of one on one guidance, most people go from cowering and swinging wild to observing their opponent in the search for openings and setting up combination strikes and feints, teaching themselves through trial, error and observation of both the self and others. Along with learning the sword, axe, dagger and multitude of other weaponry, the participant also learns of chivalry, honor and respect...not to mention self esteem.  What are you  waiting for, come pick up a sword.....the field of battle awaits!

KASTL has hit the web!

Kootenay armed sparring and tourney league has finally digitized.  Here we will be able to keep you informed as to all our activities and events, as well as providing you with information, links and pointers to make you a better swordsman (generic term).  We are starting small here but with time we hope to maximize the potential that the web has to offer.  Currently there are sparring sessions being held in Nelson, at Gyro Park on Satudays.
